Adaptive Skateboarding & WCMX Take The Stage at Move United Conference 2025

The Move United Conference will feature an introduction to WCMX (Wheelchair MotoCross) and adaptive skateboarding in a collaborative effort from the S.M.C.L. Foundation & Associates and Ability Skateboarding & Action Sports. Tony Torres, board member of the S.M.C.L. Foundation & Associates in New Orleans and a member of the World WCMX Federation, will join Andrew Garcia, Executive Director of Ability Skateboarding & Action Sports, in leading a six-hour presentation and hands-on clinic on May 5, 2025, at Woodward Park City.

This session, titled “Adaptive Skateboarding & WCMX 101,” will provide an immersive introduction to these sports for organizations, instructors, and individuals looking to expand their knowledge. Attendees will learn about the specialized equipment used, how adaptive athletes navigate skateparks, and how to develop inclusive programs that bring adaptive action sports to their communities. The event will offer a unique opportunity to experience firsthand how these sports empower individuals with disabilities, fostering growth and confidence through movement and participation.

Move United is committed to breaking down barriers in adaptive sports, and this session marks a significant step toward greater inclusivity in action sports. Whether you are an instructor, organization leader, or simply passionate about adaptive sports, this is an opportunity to learn from the best and be part of the movement.
