AT ALABAMA 2025: Showcasing WCMX and Adaptive Skateboarding

The World WCMX Federation is excited to announce that we will be presenting at the AT Alabama 2025 Conference, taking place Sep 16 — 17, 2025, in Birmingham, Alabama. This annual event brings together professionals, advocates, and individuals with disabilities to explore the latest innovations in assistive technology. This year’s theme, Expanding Access, Enhancing Lives, emphasizes the critical role of inclusive tools and adaptive recreation in supporting independence and community participation.

Representing the Federation, Tony Torres of Unified Motion, Inc. and Andrew Garcia from Ability Skateboarding & Action Sports will lead sessions introducing the fundamentals of WCMX (Wheelchair Motocross) and adaptive skateboarding. In addition to the conference presentations, attendees will be invited to take part in a hands-on workshop hosted at City Walk Skatepark, located in downtown Birmingham.

This interactive clinic will give participants the chance to experience adaptive skate firsthand, learn about specialized equipment, and discover how action sports can empower individuals of all abilities. Whether you’re a professional, an educator, or simply interested in learning more, we welcome you to join us in celebrating the innovation and community that make WCMX so impactful.
